Mark your calendars for two important events:

The 27th Annual Fall Teacher Education Forum will be held on Thursday-Friday, September 24-25, 2009, at the Raleigh North Hilton. The theme of the conference will be The Global Imperative: Leading Collaborative Communities and Assessing Their Impact Upon Learning. Download the Call for Proposals. Proposals for presentations and for student research posters is May 27, 2009.

About past events:

The Spring Teacher Education Forum was held on Friday, April 3, 2009, at North Carolina A & T State University and addressed the timely topic Operationalizing Revisioning.

The 26th Annual NC Teacher Education Forum was held Thursday and Friday, September 18-19, 2008, at the North Raleigh Hilton. The conference is one of the largest ever held for North Carolina Teacher Educators. The theme Multiple Realities: Quality in Teacher Education was highlighted by Keynote Speaker, Terry James, President of ATE. Teacher of the Year Cindi Rigsbee and Principal of the Year Debra Morris presented outstanding addresses to the membership at the closing luncheon. Organized by Randy Kohlenberg and Carol Maidon, the 26th Annual Forum included some 80 research presentations by members. These presentations will be included in the Forum Proceedings.

The Spring Teacher Education Forum was held on Friday, April 11, 2008, at the North Carolina A&T State University Alumni Foundation Building in Greensboro, NC. Dr. Kathy Sullivan, Senior Policy Analyst for the NC State Board of Education and representative of the NC Department of Public Instruction, led the Forum topic that focused upon the re-visioning of teacher education programs in North Carolina and the new program approval process. NC-ACTE President Dr. Karen Guy organized and hosted the event that is thought to have been the largest ever Spring Teacher Education Forum.

This website, developed and posted on December 18, 2007, will undergo continual revision and updating. Members and viewers are requested to send any corrections, clarifications, or problems with accessibility to the webmaster. If you have information about the history and purpose of NC-ACTE, including photographs, please contact Randy Kohlenberg at rbkohlen@uncg.edu. The hope is that the many members who remember how the organization has developed and progressed will be able to submit their recollections, send any releveant documents, and forward photographs or programs. This information and memorabilia will then be incorporated into a history that can be kept on this website under the link About NC-ACTE.
